Description / Abstract

This study provides insights into the impact the HPC Food Marketplace has on the coping strategies used by low-income immigrant populations experiencing food insecurity and how participating in this program affects these strategies. Using surveys and interviews before and after participation, the research aims to understand how these programs can help improve coping strategies and reduce health disparities. The 16-week intervention led to significant changes in coping strategies, including a reduction in begging for food–a behavior linked to anxiety and depression–and an increase in familial interactions.
