Phonological awareness is an umbrella term that includes the understanding of the larger parts of spoken language and smaller units of sound. This project is an evidence-based instructional manual that equips early childhood educators to more effectively teach phonological awareness, an important precursor to academic success. These lesson plans were created through interventions from a literature review, using evidence-based research. Also, they have been tested out and implemented at a laboratory preschool, the Early Childhood Learning Center at Point Loma Nazarene University.
