Description / Abstract

The current project was focused on distance running performance, investigating different factors that affect it. The main focus was on neuromuscular capacity and certain muscle power factors. The study had a cross-sectional design and participants were 10 female NCAA division II distance runners. The present study found that the ability to sprint 400m meters might be a good predictor of race performance. Moreover, the ability to develop force quickly and the ability to sprint were also important predictors of distance running performance.
