The Sunset Limited script, written by Cormac McCarthy, depicts an intense conversation that takes place between two characters, White and Black. This conversation is what takes place after Black rescues White from his attempt at committing suicide. It is in these two characters that one can see the description of both a non-believer and believer when it comes to the views of religion. There are two main excerpts of the script that I will look at and explore through the lenses of two theorists William James and Abraham Maslow.
